Hands on training on ‘Adaptation Technology to Climate Change’
Hands on training on ‘Adaptation Technology to Climate Change’
Date: 13-14 June 2022
Venue: CCDB Climate Center, Sreepur, Gazipur
Course overview
Extreme and slow onset events of climate change are posing severe threats to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Bangladesh. Poor and vulnerable people are mostly affected by climate change impacts, such as floods, droughts, cyclones, storm surge and other extreme and slow onset events. To tackle these impacts and make the best use of the opportunity, people need robust adaptation plan to adjust to this situation. Climate adaptation technologies are targeted to adapt to the adverse effects of climate change. Now CCDB is planning to conduct hands on training on ‘Adaptation technology to climate change’ for practitioners who are playing a vital role for community adaptation process.
The training will take place at CCDB climate center. The Climate Center is a unique place, located at Sreepur, 60 km north of Dhaka. It offers visitors exciting learning, research and capacity building opportunities on climate change, climate adaptation and mitigation. It uses interactive learning methods and demonstrates more than 50 technologies, which are suitable for poor rural communities. The Climate Center, which is still under construction, consists of a Climate Technology Park, a Learning Center and a Climate Campus.
