Integrated Floating Farming

place

Integrated floating farming is a system of cultivating crops and fishes combinedly where crops and fishes benefit each other to grow.

Benefit for the user

  • It is cheap and sustainable.
  • Farmers get benefits by generating two or more vegetable crops with fish farming.
  • Effective in improving the socio-economic status of the farmers by doubling their income

Contribution to Climate Change Adaptation

In the Char region, flash floods are expected. The water bodies and agricultural lands are flooded regularly. Apart from this, natural fish production is limited by various factors. By integrated floating farming, fish production can be increased, and vegetables can be grown during the dry season.

Regional Feasibility

Char, Haor and water-logged areas, like- Sunamgonj, Moulovibazar, Gaibandha, Kurigram, etc.
